Overview

Adjustable Compression Wraps for Lymphology

With hook-and-loop straps, these wraps let you set and re-tighten a precise compression level as swelling changes, supporting both the intensive and maintenance phases of lymphoedema therapy. They're easier to apply than bandaging and ideal for self-management, helping you keep limb volume under control at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an adjustable compression wrap and what is it used for?
An adjustable compression wrap is a short-stretch garment closed with hook-and-loop (Velcro) straps instead of being knitted as a fixed sleeve or stocking. Because you set the tension yourself, you can re-tighten it through the day as limb volume changes, which is why wraps such as the Juzo ACS Light range are used as part of the management of lymphoedema, in both the intensive decongestion phase and ongoing maintenance, as advised by a clinician. Many people also find them easier to apply than bandaging or a knitted garment, including with limited hand strength.
How much compression do these wraps give, and do I need a prescription?
The Juzo ACS Light arm, thigh and calf wraps can deliver therapeutic compression of up to 40 mmHg, and the level is set by how you tension the straps. Which compression class or setting is right for you is a decision for your doctor or for a fitting with our specialist — we cannot advise a class over a page or a chat. As a general rule on paperwork, CCL 1 and most ready-made CCL 2 garments do not need a prescription, while CCL 3, CCL 4 and every custom flat-knit therapeutic garment do; bring any referral with you to your fitting.
How do I get measured for a wrap, and what is the difference between ready-made and custom?
We fit in our Business Bay clinic in Dubai (30-45 minutes), by home visit in Dubai or Abu Dhabi (45-60 minutes), or by guided video consultation (20-30 minutes); in-clinic and virtual fittings are free when the garment is bought from us, and a home visit may carry a travel fee that a colleague confirms when booking. Wear loose clothing that gives easy access to the limb being measured. Ready-made sizes are held in stock, while custom flat-knit garments are made to your own measurements at Juzo in Germany and take 2 to 4 weeks from the day measurements are confirmed.
Do I need more than one wrap to cover a whole limb?
Each wrap covers one segment, so a full-limb solution is often built from more than one piece. For the lower leg, the JUZO ACS Light Foot Wrap is usually worn together with the Juzo ACS Light Calf Wrap, and there are separate knee and thigh wraps; for the upper limb there is an arm wrap and a hand wrap, plus the ACS Light Midline Band. Which segments you need depends on where swelling sits, so this is best confirmed with your clinician or at a fitting with our specialist.
How do I wash a compression wrap and how long does it last?
Wash at 40 C on a gentle machine cycle in a mesh laundry bag, using a detergent made for compression garments, and always follow the care label that comes with the product. No fabric softener, no tumble drying and no ironing — heat and softener break down the elastic fibres and the compression goes with them. Medical compression garments typically hold their compression for around 4 to 6 months of daily wear, so replacing roughly every six months is normal.
