Overview

Women's Thoracic Compression Corsets

A thorax corset wraps the rib cage in firm, even compression that supports the surgical site, limits movement and helps reduce post-operative swelling. Multi-row closures let you tune the pressure precisely and adjust as the area heals, providing reliable support through the recovery period.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a women's thoracic compression corset and what is it used for?
A thorax corset wraps the rib cage in firm, even compression that supports the surgical site, limits movement and helps reduce post-operative swelling. The REV.032 Revee Cardio is a postoperative compression corset that gives constant, stable external support to the chest and sternum. It is used as part of recovery after cardiothoracic surgery, sternotomy, gynecomastia surgery or pectoral reconstruction, as advised by your surgeon or clinician.
How is the Revee Cardio corset put on, and how long should it be worn each day?
The first application should be performed by a qualified technician, with the closure positioned in the chest area, so you learn the correct placement before wearing it on your own. The multi-row closures let you tune the pressure precisely and adjust it as the area heals. How many hours a day you wear it and for how many weeks is decided by the surgeon who operated on you, not by us — bring their instructions to your fitting so we can work to them.
How do I get measured for a thoracic corset?
We fit in our clinic at 610 Clover Bay Tower, Business Bay, Dubai (30–45 minutes), at home in Dubai or Abu Dhabi (45–60 minutes), or by guided video consultation (20–30 minutes). In-clinic and virtual fittings are free when the garment is bought from us; a home visit may carry a travel fee depending on the area, which a colleague confirms when you book. Wear loose clothing that opens easily at the chest, and bring your doctor's referral if you have one. Our fitting specialists are certified in medical compression therapy and trained by Juzo in Germany.
Is a ready-made corset enough, or do I need a custom garment?
Ready-made garments come in standard sizes and are held in stock, which suits many people directly after surgery. Custom flat-knit garments are made to one person's own measurements at Juzo in Germany and take 2 to 4 weeks from the day the measurements are confirmed; the thorax is one of the areas that can be fitted this way, in over 30 colours and in standard, antibacterial Silver or skin-friendly Cotton fabric. Every custom flat-knit therapeutic garment needs a prescription, as do CCL 3 and CCL 4. Which route and which compression is right for you is a decision for your doctor or for a fitting with our specialist.
How do I wash a compression corset, and how long does it last?
Machine wash at 40 C on a gentle cycle in a mesh laundry bag, using a detergent made for compression garments. No fabric softener, no tumble drying and no ironing — heat and softener break down the elastic fibres, and the compression goes with them. A medical compression garment typically holds its compression for 4 to 6 months of daily wear, so replacing roughly every six months is normal; if you are wearing a corset every day, a second one makes washing and drying easier.
