The Revee Cardio belt provides firm, external support to the chest and breastbone after cardiothoracic surgery and sternotomy (where the sternum is divided to access the heart). In the weeks after open-chest surgery, the breastbone needs to heal and realign, and constant external support is central to that process. The belt applies steady, controlled compression across the sternum to stabilise it, which can reduce pain, support healing and give patients real confidence during recovery.

Designed around the healing chest

The belt uses four adjustable Velcro closures and a dedicated sternal support panel, so tension can be loosened or tightened precisely to your surgeon's guidance. It is contoured at the armpits for comfort, with adjustable, removable straps, and the closure sits at the front to make dressing easy when arm movement is limited. Importantly, the design keeps the lower lungs and upper abdomen free, allowing unrestricted deep breathing, which matters greatly after chest surgery. How to wear it

The first application should be carried out by a qualified clinician, who will set the correct size and tension. The front closure makes the belt easy to put on and take off. Adjust the four Velcro fasteners so the support feels firm but comfortable, never restricting your breathing, and wear it for the period your surgeon advises. Many patients keep a second belt of the same size so support is never interrupted while one is being washed.

Important

This belt must be used under medical supervision after heart or chest surgery. It is not suitable for patients with multiple trauma involving lung injury. The support should never make breathing difficult; if it does, loosen it and contact your surgeon. Always follow the wear schedule and guidance given by your cardiothoracic surgeon or care team.
